Your opinion may vary from mine.I was very excited when Schwan’s said they would allow me to do a review of their meat sampler pack. I have never had a home delivery service before and have never tried Schwan’s products. I love the idea behind not having to leave the comfort of your home to do your grocery shopping. I do not know how anyone else feels about grocery shopping at the store but in the summer the stores are crowded and I feel like I spend more time at the grocery market than at home. In addition, fighting through the crowds is not a fun time for my children or me. By choosing home delivery, you could cut your time by half if not more at the grocery store.
The meat sampler pack comes with eight fully cooked bacon slices, four Black Angus steak burgers, and four unbreaded, boneless, skinless chicken breast fillets with rib meat. The sampler pack came packed in a cooler with dry ice. Everything remained frozen and I was able to put it in my freezer until I was ready to use. Schwan's carries a large assortment of products from seafood, beef and pork, fruits and vegetables, pizza and pasta, snacks, appetizers, entrees, beverages, sweets for the sweet tooth, and healthy live smart products. I have to be honest to say I am not a big frozen hamburger person; however, these burgers tasted remarkably well as if it was fresh hamburger. The hamburgers did not shrink which surprised me, as most times there is usually shrinkage that occurs while cooking. In addition, the bacon is already pre-cooked so if you want to crisp it up layer it between paper towels and place in microwave for 1-2 minutes. The directions state up to 4 minutes, however, it depends on the wattage of your microwave and I found 1 minute with mine to be more than enough time. When I made the chicken, everyone took their pieces and ate them before I could take pictures. I made a simple recipe of ranch and shake and bake and cooked them in the oven until done. The chicken was very good and not dry.
One of Schwan’s helpful features is that it allows you to create a menu for 1 day, 7, days, or 14 days using items from your lists, recipes, and the assortment of Schwan's products and recipes. With the easy drag and drop feature, you can add products easily to create your menu. Another feature that I thought was helpful is the shopping lists. My Lists let you create shopping lists for easy shopping on Schwans.com. Once a list is created, click “Add to Cart” to add the entire list your shopping cart. Speed shop from your Favorite Products List, Past Purchase List, Schwans.com starter lists or lists you create yourself. Look for the “Add to My Lists” button on product pages to add products to one of your lists.
