To celebrate the football season I wanted to have my game day lips on. These are the most neat lip tattoos I have ever seen. I was sent two different sets of lip tattoos to try.
One was from the Glitterati collection and one is the game day colors for the Patriots! I have lived in Massachusetts most of my life and have only lived in Florida for three years so I am a fan of New England! You can choose many different colors to show your support for your teams. Violent Lips offers several different collections such as Glitteratti, Glitteratti Mix, Patriotic, Crazy for Colors, Animal Prints, Pretty in Pink, Racy in Red, and Spring and Summer collection. Some collections you may get two appliques and others three you will have to read the packaging to determine how many are in each. I will now explain to you how to apply these appliques. When they came in the mail my daughter took over the purple ones and I tried the game day. This was my first attempt at it so definitely not my best. However, it was a lot of fun!
*NOTE* Make sure your lips are completely dry before doing any of this.
Take your applique out of the packing and inside you will see full directions on how to apply.
As you can see this is what the applique looks like. I should have turned it around but the top lip part is on the bottom in the picture. Now I will go through each step with you so that you can see how it is done.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:A pair of Scissors, a Mirror, Cotton Balls, Water
Remove the applique out of the stencil
MEASURE: Line the center of the top lip appliqué to your cupid and measure the width and depth of your lip with your mouth open to a wide “Ahh” Shape. Make sure to stay outside your water line. Remember that the edges of your mouth also have a waterline that you need to cut to.
**NOTE** ** The BIGGEST difference between applying the Glitteratti Collection, and the existing line of Violent Lips Appliqués is that you must measure and apply the lips with your mouth open to a relaxed "Oh" shape.
CUT: Cut to your measurements using the horizontal and vertical guides on the back of the lips.
After you cut the sides, you will need to measure to cut horizontal. However, Never cut from the top line of the top Violent Lip pattern Never Cut from the bottom line of the bottom Violent Lip Stencil
PEEL: Peel the plastic film off the appliqué.
APPLY: Put the sticky side of the appliqué on your lips, making sure to keep your mouth in the wide “Ahh” shape. Soak the paper backing in water using your cotton ball until the paper starts to slide off.
You will do the same for the bottom as well.
SEAL: Seal and smooth the appliqués with a generous amount of water using your cotton swab.
** Wait 5 minutes for your lips to fully dry before you apply any product over your lips, eat or drink
This is the finished product. I did mess up but it was my first attempt. I recommend apply a thin coat of lip balm, as your lips will feel very dry and almost like plastic. Once I applied the lip balm my lips felt more natural. This will last between 4-6 hours. Do not eat anything high in oil content or greasy as it may start to peel. I recommend using a straw to drink from. I really love the look and I had a lot of fun applying them.
Tip –To ensure your lip balm or glass will not take off the applique prior to application, test with remaining excess. Seal an excess piece to your hand utilizing water to seal, determine the effects by applying the lip balm or gloss over the applique on your hand.
This is from the Glitteratti collection. The color is a little dark in the photo. However, it is a very beautiful purple with a nice sparkle! I think my daughter did a great job applying it and had fun with it too! Check them out today at ViolentLips. They have videos, tips and you can see all their wonderful collections.
