As a mother, and wife, living in a household with boys who seldom like to have their hair cut, it has never been a top priority for us to buy clippers to keep in the home – until recently, that is, when my husband decided to shave his head, using a standard razor!

Never one to tell my husband what he can and can’t do with his own body, I gave him a helping hand with the regular razor until we’d shaved his head totally bald! Not overly keen on the new look, I asked that when it grows out a little that he keep it at a shorter length if he so desired - but with hair, rather than none at all! I declared that I would never use a razor to shave his hair that short again and that perhaps next time we could borrow our friend’s clippers instead! He agreed.

Subsequently, and with great timing, I was recently given the opportunity to try out a set of Philips Norelco ‘do-it-yourself’ hair clippers, which as the name suggests, are designed in such a way that it is a cinch to shave and maintain your own head of hair without the help of others - and with reliable, stunning results!

The Philips Norelco ‘do-it-yourself‘ clippers are very stylish and sit comfortably in any adult hand. Equipped with 20 secured length settings (ranging from 3/64 in to 1 3/16 in) and a “zoom ring” adjustable comb, the clippers couldn't get much easier to control! The head of the clipper rotates a whopping 180 degrees, and the precision trimmer allows you to complete your desired look with ease! There is no oil required and batteries last for up to an hour and take very little time to re-charge!
My husband recently tried out the clippers and found them to be comfortable and easy to use - plus the rechargeable feature meant that he could sneak off with them anywhere in the house without having to worry about tripping over power leads, or getting tangled up in them! With just a few easy spins around the head, the clippers tidied up his hair in minutes and the results were clean and precise with no longer areas than any other and certainly no patches.

Simple to use, quick to clean and easy to switch out grade lengths or angles, the Philips Norelco ‘do-it-yourself’ clipper lives up to its claims and hits home on almost every single level! I am giving the device a well deserved 9 out of 10, which would easily have been a 10/10 if only the clippers had come with a carry case or a storage bag for the few pieces that accompany it! The lack of a bag is no deal breaker though and we certainly wouldn't give these up in a hurry! Now, if only my son would let us cut HIS hair with them, we would have our icing on the cake!
