The apron is one of many products part of the Ford Warriors in Pink gear that one can purchase to support breast cancer awareness. Ford Motor Company has been active in the fight against breast cancer for over 20 years. The line of gear started to be offered in 2006 when Ford increased their efforts and 100% of the net proceeds are dedicated to the cause with donations going to charities that offer support.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women except for skin cancers. About 1 in 8 (12%) women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime. The goal is to encourage men and women to do self-exams and keep the topic of breast cancer a part of everyday conversation. In turn, greater awareness can lead to earlier diagnosis which could save lives. Ford Warriors in Pink hopes that you will join them whether you are a survivor, co-survivor or simply someone who cares. One can choose from one of four charities Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation (DSLRF), The Pink Fund and the Young Survivor’s Coalition (YSC).
The apron is as beautiful in picture as it is in person. I use this apron all the time while I am in the kitchen. In addition, I use it while I am doing the dishes to prevent water on my clothes. I am so happy that Ford Motor Company is participating in this and makes me feel proud to show my support by letting you all know about it.
